SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Accounting Team Lead, the Senior Accountant will provide support and assistance with all aspects of financial accounting for multiple divisions & companies.  The Senior Accountant will handle general accounting tasks, financial analysis, assist in budget preparation and contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes in the manufacturing environment. KEYÂ RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: Â
- Understanding of standard costing, job costing, process costing, and variance analysis.
- Tracking inventory movements, reconciling physical vs. book inventory, and applying absorption costing.
- Calculating unit costs, BOM analysis, contribution margins, and profitability by product line or project
- Performs full-cycle duties in a multi-currency environment
- Monitors and resolves batch posting issues in applicable ERP
- Assists in the timely preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
- Maintains and reconciles general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness Â
- Posts journal entries and ensure all financial transactions are recorded timely
- State and sales tax & VAT analysis and remittances
- Monitors accounts receivable aging and follow up on overdue accounts
- Supports the monthly analysis of manufacturing costs and inventory valuation
- Assists in preparation of cost reports and identifying cost-savings opportunities
- Maintains Fixed Assets Register
- Prepares monthly depreciation schedule and entries
- Assists in the preparation of audit working papers
- Prepares monthly results variance analysis; analyze variances between actual and budgeted results, providing explanation and insights
- Works closely with cross-functional teams, including production, supply chain, and sales to gather financial data
- Collaborates with other finance team members on various projects
- Performs other duties outside their scope of work as assigned and required

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPENTENCIES:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation considered and asset
- Minimum of 3 years’ of experience or proven track record in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance
- Proficiency in financial software and systems (e.g., ERP systems, Excel)
- Able to demonstrate logical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Able to exercise sound judgment, is self-motivated, with the ability to prioritize key requirements in a fast-paced and demanding environment
- Must be able to read, write and speak/understand English fluently

This role is conducted in an office environment requiring some or all the following:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or workstation
- Repetitive hand and arm movementsÂ
