How you’ll contribute 

The Phlebotomist performs venipuncture and specimen collection for patients across the lifespan in an acute hospital setting, ensuring accurate identification, proper labeling, and specimen integrity in accordance with hospital policies. This role supports laboratory operations by processing and routing specimens, performing chain‑of‑custody collections and breath alcohol testing as required, coordinating therapeutic drug monitoring with nursing staff, and assisting with order entry and clerical workflows. The Phlebotomist provides excellent customer service, answers laboratory phones, maintains supply inventory, and collaborates with providers, nursing units, and laboratory staff to resolve order discrepancies while adhering to safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

What we’re looking for
Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent 

  • Completion of an accredited Phlebotomy training program and current phlebotomy certification required

  • Basic Life Support certification is required 

  • Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision under stress; rapid learning and use of multiple software systems; effective English communication (read/write/speak); ability to complete the Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire.
