Customer Service & Inside Sales Representative

Job Description

This full-time, onsite Customer Service & Inside Sales Representative role in Hendersonville, TN supports a growing industrial manufacturing organization in a business-to-business (B2B) environment. The position serves as a primary point of contact for business customers, managing orders from receipt through delivery while ensuring a best-in-class customer experience. You will focus on customer communication, order entry, shipment coordination, and collaboration with internal teams. Over time, you will act as an extension of the sales team by nurturing relationships, proactively checking in on customer needs, and supporting long-term account growth. This is a service-oriented role with no cold calling or high-pressure sales.

Responsibilities

  • Process customer orders received via email, phone, and online channels with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Manage orders from entry through fulfillment, including confirming pricing, lead times, shipment coordination, and delivery updates.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries related to order status, product availability, shipping schedules, and account-related questions.
  • Provide timely, professional, and clear customer communication, with a strong emphasis on email correspondence.
  • Collaborate closely with Finance, Engineering, Production, Shipping & Receiving, and Sales to resolve issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate and communicate updates regarding lead times, backorders, shipment delays, and order modifications.
  • Prepare quotations, order documentation, return authorizations, credit requests, and other customer account transactions.
  • Investigate and resolve customer concerns while maintaining a positive and solutions-focused customer experience.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within ERP and customer management systems.
  • Build and maintain lasting customer relationships through proactive follow-up and exceptional service.
  • Identify opportunities to support account growth through ongoing customer engagement and relationship development.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing customer service and operational efficiency.

Essential Skills

  • Previous experience in customer service, order management, customer support, inside sales support, or account coordination.
  • Experience working in a business-to-business (B2B) environment preferred.

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented work style.
  • Effective communicator who can adapt messaging to different audiences.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, onsite position based in Hendersonville, TN within an industrial manufacturing setting that serves business-to-business customers. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Engineering, Production, Shipping & Receiving, and Sales, in a collaborative and team-oriented environment. The role involves frequent use of ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar platforms, as well as daily use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word for communication, documentation, and data management. The pace is fast and customer-driven, with an emphasis on accuracy, responsiveness, and continuous improvement in customer service and operational efficiency

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.
