The role you’ll contribute:
Â
Responsible for administering therapeutic radiation treatments to patients as prescribed by a physician. This position ensures the accurate delivery of radiation therapy to age-specific groups identified in direct care responsibilities. This role involves maintaining detailed records of treatment administered and patient responses. In addition, this position collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care. Participates in outstanding customer service and maintains respectful relationships with all patients and staff. Responsibilities for this role include adhering to safety protocols, operating radiation equipment, and providing patient education.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

- Evaluates prescribed imaging and makes requested changes within 24 hours, accurately documenting treatment information in the patient electronic record and utilizing the record and verify system.
- Reviews all new starts for consistency prior to treatment, verifying patient positioning and field orientation, and checking the record and verify system for prescription, treatment parameters, doses, treatment accessories, and monitor units.
- Performs morning Quality Assurance (QA) on the treatment unit, assessing whether all equipment is operating according to physics policy and calling the appropriate person immediately after equipment malfunctions.
- Assists in maintaining department supplies and provides supervised education experiences for students that fulfill curriculum requirements of the academic institution.
- As required by facility, participates in after hours on-call coverage, maintains competency with afterhours treatment coverage, performs 2D treatment calculations, and works with minimal direction and supervision.
The expertise and experience you’ll need to succeed:

- High School Grad or Equivalent [Required]
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) [Required] OR
- Certified Radiologic Technologists (CRT) [Required] OR
- Registered Radiologic Tech - Non-Cert (RT-NONCERT) [Required]
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
