Are you a parent or caregiver who has personally navigated the mental health, developmental disability, or substance use system for your child?Do you want to use your lived experience to help other families feel supported, empowered, and less alone?
RHA Health Services is seeking a Family Partner to support families of children and adolescents facing behavioral health, developmental, or substance use challenges.
This is a community-based role where you will walk alongside families, help them navigate complex systems, and advocate for their needs — while teaching them how to advocate for themselves.
What You’ll Do
As a Family Partner, you will:
- Partner with families to build confidence, self-advocacy, and parenting skills
- Attend care planning meetings (schools, DSS, courts, medical providers, probation, etc.)
- Help families understand treatment options, eligibility, and community resources
- Advocate for families across multiple systems of care
- Provide education using a strength-based, recovery-focused approach
- Reduce stigma and promote hope and empowerment
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary behavioral health team
This role is primarily community-based and involves meeting families where they are — at home, school, court, or community agencies.
This is not a traditional clinical position.
We are specifically seeking someone with lived experience as a caregiver who understands firsthand what families go through.

Lived Experience Requirement (Mandatory):
Must have been a primary caregiver of a child with:
- Mental health challenges
- Substance use disorder
- Intellectual or developmental disability
AND have experience navigating child-serving systems (schools, DSS, juvenile justice, medical, behavioral health, etc.).
Education & Experience (One of the Following):
- Bachelor’s degree in a human services field + 1 year experience working with children/adolescents
- Associate degree in a human services field + 2 years experience
- High school diploma/GED + 4 years experience working with children/adolescents
Certification:
Must hold or be actively pursuing National Certification as a Family Partner.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to travel locally for meetings and family visits
- Strong communication and advocacy skills
- Comfort working with multiple systems (schools, courts, child welfare, providers)
