The primary responsibility of the Marketing Director is to lead and direct the brand team in a profitable and professional manner. The Marketing Director is responsible for managing assigned suppliers, achieve specific objectives, implementation of programs, creation of incentives and strategic market plans for communication and execution across all channels of trade. With a fervent for passion for customer service an employee morale, we service seventeen and a half counties in Western New York operating out of multiple state-of-the-art facilities and sales offices. RESPONSIBILITES INCLUDE: PLANNING & STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT Ensures the WBDs portfolio strategy will allow the company to achieve its short- and long-term sales and profit goals. Works with sales management to determine WBDs priority brands, ensuring priorities receive the appropriate level of focus and investment. Collaborates with brand and sales managers to develop market-specific growth plans. Ensures supplier programs are tailored accordingly to drive reach and local relevance. Oversees and evaluates return of WBDs marketing efforts, including but not limited to digital, local events, advertising, sponsorships, POS, and promotions that enhance WBDs market position. Approves supplier ABPs, making sure agreed to sales and distribution goals are realistic and supported by necessary marketing tools. Communicates relevant portfolio updates to respective departments to include quarterly portfolio newsletter. Continually identifies opportunities to streamline functions and drive efficiencies relevant to departmental touchpoints OVERSEES BRAND MANAGERS Ensures brand managers adhere to WBDs supplier management standards and guidelines. Ensures sales and distribution goals are achieved by brand managers. Work with local marketing contacts to plan and procure effective local marketing programs. Works with inventory ordering to provide sales forecasting input. Measures the effectiveness of each local marketing activity, determining/recommending if corrective action is necessary, and if WBD and the supplier should continue each specific marketing programs in the future. Works with brand managers to monitor code dates, inform sales management of close-coded beer, and work with sales management to develop plans to minimize out-of-code product loss. Works with brand managers and sales leadership to identify SKUs that should be deleted and develop plans to sell off remaining inventory. Approves all brand and SKU additions in accordance with WBDs overall portfolio strategy and KPIs. Approves PFP objectives / incentives programs and communicates PFP objectives / incentives to the brand department. Monitors brand and program execution performance. Manages POS inventory levels and ensures brand managers order all required POS and the POS is effectively used in the market. Oversees brand manager CPC budget management and the timely invoicing of suppliers for credits and rebates. Ensures supplier accounts receivables are paid or credited within a reasonable time frame. Coordinates product knowledge training for sales and brand team. Ensures WBDs overall marketing and incentive calendar is up to date. Quarterly reviews supplier budget with V.P. of Sales & Marketing. SUPPLIER INDUSTRY & CUSTOMER RELATIONS Maintains excellent relationships with peer level and local suppliers. Shares responsibility of approving all supplier ABPs. Participates in supplier ABPs and is an approver of final plans, goals budgets, etc. Ensures WBD complies with supplier's wholesaler standards per the levels defined by WBDs Senior Management. Attends local and national supplier meetings. Establish and maintain excellent business relationships with WBDs key accounts (both chain and independent, on and off premise). NEW SUPPLIER RECRUITMENT Works with the VP of Sales and Marketing and WBDs leadership to identify and evaluate potential new suppliers. Develops and implements an acquisition plan for each potential new supplier. Is the primary contact with potential new suppliers, bringing in WBDs key executives when appropriate. Oversees the development of presentations to new suppliers. Tracks and manages the timelines plans and actions used for new supplier recruitment. PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT Ensures all personnel in his or her department follow Company safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Safety manual. Ensure compliance with all WBDs policies and procedures applicable to staff. Conducts annual performance reviews with direct reports. Responsible for coaching and developing direct reports. Addresses performance concerns, per the WBDs progressive disciplinary policy and process. Ensures all new hires receive proper onboarding and initial and ongoing job training. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree preferred with minimum of 5 years in a Sales and Brand Management/Marketing role. Experience in the Spirit and Beverage industry preferred. Ability to effectively interact with Senior Management An effective leader with a proven track record to motivate, manage and develop a team Ability to work under pressure Data analysis and digital media preferred.
