Position SummaryÂ
As an Assistant Store Manager, you play a key role in supporting daily store operations, team leadership, and staffing efforts. Partnering closely with the Store Manager, you will help drive sales performance, maintain operational excellence, and support the hiring, onboarding, and development of store associates.Â

Summary of Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
Store Operations & PerformanceÂ
- Support daily store operations to ensure sales goals, customer experience standards, and operational expectations are consistently metÂ
- Monitor sales activity and provide guidance to associates to deliver excellent customer serviceÂ
- Assist with inventory control, inventory transactions, and shrink prevention effortsÂ
- Ensure compliance with Citi Trends policies, procedures, and operational standardsÂ

Team Leadership & StaffingÂ
- Supervise and support store associates in sales, inventory, cash handling, and customer serviceÂ
- Assist the Store Manager with hiring and recruiting activities, including candidate screening, interviews, onboarding, and training supportÂ
- Help maintain appropriate staffing levels by supporting recruiting efforts and employee retentionÂ
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance support to associatesÂ

Customer Experience & ComplianceÂ
- Maintain a safe, organized, and customer-focused store environmentÂ
- Reinforce adherence to company policies, procedures, and loss prevention standardsÂ
- Support consistent execution of merchandising, operational, and visual standardsÂ

- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support store operations and business needs.Â
QualificationsÂ
- High school diploma or equivalent requiredÂ
- 2–4 years of experience as an Assistant Manager or similar retail leadership roleÂ
- 3–5 years of overall retail experience preferredÂ
- Strong communication, organizational, and people leadership skillsÂ
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekendsÂ
- Ability to perform basic math calculations, including percentagesÂ
