Licensed Medical laboratory Technician

Morrow County Health District is seeking a full-time Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)/Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to join the laboratory team at Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Heppner, Oregon. This position performs a broad range of laboratory testing and specimen collection functions in a rural critical access hospital setting serving both inpatient and outpatient populations.

Essential Duties

• Perform laboratory testing in chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, and blood bank.
• Collect blood specimens and perform phlebotomy procedures.
• Process, analyze, and report laboratory results accurately and promptly.
• Perform quality control procedures and instrument maintenance.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation and testing issues.
• Maintain compliance with CLIA, CAP, OSHA, and facility policies.
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours laboratory coverage.
• Collaborate with providers, nursing staff, and ancillary departments to support patient care.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related laboratory science program.
• Meets CLIA ‘88 requirements for testing personnel for blood banking, chemistry, hematology, coagulation, and urinalysis.
• Current ASCP certification as MLT (or equivalent certification preferred).
• Ability to work independently in a small rural hospital environment.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
