About the Role:
Communications Install Solutions Inc is looking for a skilled Cabling Field Tech to join our growing team in Hermiston, OR. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in the field, takes pride in quality installations, and is ready to be a key part of delivering reliable communications infrastructure to our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic cable
- Pull and route low-voltage cabling through walls, ceilings, conduit, and cable trays
- Terminate data jacks, patch panels, and fiber connectors with precision and care
- Perform cable testing and troubleshooting using industry-standard equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and technical diagrams on job sites
- Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, and clients on-site
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with safety standards
Requirements:
- Prior experience in low-voltage cabling, structured wiring, or telecommunications installation
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and cable testing equipment
- Ability to work in various environments including attics, crawl spaces, and elevated lifts
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to clean, professional installations
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the workday
- BICSI certification or low-voltage license is a plus but not required
