Pharmacy Technician will be working under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist and will carry out the responsibilities that are assigned by the Director of Pharmacy and approved by the Oregon State Board of Pharmacy.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

B.           Working Conditions:
Inside environment, protected from the weather, but not necessarily temperature changes. Subject to potential exposure to infectious and contagious disease, and hazardous (including biohazard) materials and equipment; Potentially subject to combative/confused patients; Variable noise levels; Subject to rapid pace, multiple stimuli, unpredictable environment, and critical situations.
C.           Physical Demands/Traits:
Must be able to 1) Perceive the nature of sounds by ear; 2) express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word; 3) lift, carry, push and pull objects weighing up to                25 pounds; 4) continuous walking and standing.

A.           Education:
Required:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â High School Diploma
Completed basic science and math courses.
B.           Experience:
Required:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â None
Desired:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Previous hospital experience, computer skills, Pyxis systems and pharmacy knowledge
C.           Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations:
Required: Pharmacy Technician Registration with Oregon Board of Pharmacy
D.           Equipment/Tools/Work Aids:
Sterile IV Hoods and IV supplies (needles, syringes, etc), typewriter, computer terminal and printer, photocopier, fax machine, Pyxis system
E.           Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
Computer skills and experience
IV Admixture and sterile compounding procedures
Pyxis support, load and unload and refill features.
