The Business Intelligence Developer sits at the intersection of Marketing, Sales, and Data Engineering, transforming raw marketing and customer data into curated, actionable data experiences that power segmentation, personalization, campaign optimization, and go-to-market strategy.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

Audience & Marketing Segmentation

  • Develop and maintain marketing audience segments based on behavioral, geographic, demographic, and transactional data.
  • Support definition and refinement of Ideal Customer Profiles (ICP) across markets.
  • Partner with Marketing and Sales to analyze buyer journeys and optimize campaign targeting strategies.
  • Identify segmentation gaps and opportunities across CRM, website, digital, and offline systems.
  • Translate campaign and customer performance data into actionable targeting recommendations.

 

Accelerating Time-to-Insight

  • Design intuitive, executive-ready dashboards that reduce turnaround time for marketing reporting.
  • Automate recurring marketing performance reports and KPI tracking.
  • Optimize data models and queries to improve report performance and refresh reliability.
  • Identify friction in reporting workflows and propose scalable automation solutions.
  • Enable self-service analytics while maintaining governance and metric integrity.

 

Marketing Performance & Funnel Analytics

Build and maintain dashboards tracking key metrics including:

  • Lead generation performance and pipeline velocity
  • Digital marketing attribution and campaign ROI
  • Website behavior and conversion metrics
  • Sales pipeline velocity and conversion rates by community and market
  • Analyze channel effectiveness across paid search, social, email, events, and partnerships.
  • Support A/B test analysis and personalization experiments.
  • Distill performance insights into clear executive narratives.

 

Data Experience & Storytelling

  • Curate data experiences that are intuitive, interactive, and aligned with business decisions.
  • Standardize marketing KPIs and ensure consistent metric definitions across tools and teams.
  • Design dashboards that guide users toward decisions — not just present data.
  • Prepare summaries and presentations for marketing leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Simplify complex analytical findings into actionable recommendations.

 

BI Development & Data Engineering Support

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of BI dashboards and reports using enterprise BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Looker).
  • Support creation of semantic models, dataset definitions, and standardized metrics under direction from senior developers.
  • Develop and troubleshoot SQL queries, stored procedures, and views to support reporting and analytics needs.
  • Optimize data structures for reporting performance and scalability.
  • Help ensure data quality by performing validation checks and working with analysts to resolve issues.
  • Follow established governance, naming conventions, and documentation standards.
  • Participate in user-acceptance testing (UAT) for new reports, datasets, and metric definitions.

 

AI-Enhanced Analytics & Innovation

  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate segmentation analysis, insight generation, and reporting workflows.
  • Explore predictive scoring, customer clustering, and behavioral modeling opportunities.
  • Assist in evaluating emerging AI capabilities for marketing optimization.
  • Support conversational BI and AI-assisted reporting experiments.
  • Stay informed about emerging BI and AI tools and participate in continuous learning.
  • Represent the company professionally in all internal and external interactions and communications
  • Complete all other duties as assigned by manager
  • Adhere to company safety standards and help promote a safe working environment

Position Standards

  • Experience with marketing automation platforms and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Marketo, HubSpot).
  • Familiarity with attribution modeling and campaign performance measurement.
  • Experience with audience data governance and segmentation logic.
  • Familiarity with dimensional modeling basics and data warehousing concepts.
  • Exposure to AI-enabled analytics, predictive modeling, or customer scoring.
  • Experience working with Git, Jira/Trello, or similar version control and project management tools.
  • Basic scripting knowledge (Python/R) for automation or data prep.
  • Industry background in residential real estate, construction, consumer behavior, or digital marketing.
  • Understanding of funnel analytics and conversion rate optimization.

 

 

Position Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business, Marketing, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in BI development, marketing analytics, or business analytics (internships and coursework welcome).
  • Strong SQL skills and understanding of relational databases.
  • Experience designing dashboards for Marketing or Sales stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with segmentation logic and customer lifecycle analytics.
  • Basic experience with one or more BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Looker, Tableau).
  • Familiarity with data visualization best practices and dashboard design concepts.
  • Ability to translate analytical findings into business recommendations.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort presenting to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Willingness to work in a hybrid environment (3 days per week onsite).
