Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Test Engineer in Herndon, VA  to support Intelligence Community and DoD customers as part of a talented, high-performing team. As part of this team you will work with emerging service and distributed computing technologies for satellite situational awareness (SSA) data processing and distribution.  

  

The EMMETT program, a next gen Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Indications and Warning (I&W) system, establishes a repository of resident space objects (RSOs), finds RSOs of interest, and provides data to ground operators. The EMMETT team uses: programmatics, sensor modeling, and system engineering expertise to deliver this world-class SDA I&W system. 

  

What you'll do: 

  • Utilize experience in maintaining and enhancing test scripts and creating and executing test procedures to support development, integration, regression and user acceptance testing. 
  • Design and write test plans and procedures, analyze test results and develop and review code as necessary. 
  • Document bugs in Jira and provide test reports. 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

  • Associates degree with 10+ years of relevant experience; OR Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience OR Masters degree with 6+ years experience. Additional Four (4) years of experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelors degree. 
  • This position requires the candidate possess a minimum of Top Secret clearance with ability to upgrade to TS/SCI and pass a polygraph within 30 days of employment or at customers request- contract requires TS/SCI with poly. The candidate must maintain the clearance. 
  • Two (2) years experience with software testing
  • Two (2) years experience creating test plans/procedures
  • Two (2) years experience in an Agile software development environment 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Experience supporting customer-facing test events or requirement sell-off activities 
  • Experience working in a Linux based environment 
  • Experience working with an RDBMS (Postgres, MySQL, etc.) 
  • Experience creating or maintaining automated software testing scripts/tools (Selenium, Cypress, etc.) 
  • Experience working with Jira, Jenkins, Gitlab, Ansible 
  • Experience with Agile

Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
