Mechanical Engineer

Key Role: 

Applies engineering physics, engineering mathematics and materials science principles to support the design, analysis, manufacture or maintenance of mechanical systems. Applies leading-edge principles, theories, and concepts and contributes to the development of new principles and concepts. Works on unusually complex problems and provides highly innovative solutions. Operates with limited oversight. Mentors or supervises junior staff in both company and technical competencies. 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of experience with design and modeling of heating, ventilation and air conditioning, and power design and engineering for facilities 
  • Experience with industrial or facility reverse engineering and vulnerability assessment or analysis 
  • Experience with engineering research, capability or limitation analysis, reverse engineering analysis or characterizations, and facility assessments 
  • Experience performing engineering duties in analyzing and characterizing all source information regarding, engines, machines, and mechanically functioning equipment 
  • Experience with complex mechanical design and project management 
  • Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Technology, or Mathematics 
  • Professional Engineering Certification 

Additional Qualifications: 

  • Knowledge of underground facilities or hard and deeply buried targets 
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph 
  • Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field 

Clearance: 

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $62,000.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
