Position Summary
Larkin Community Hospital Palm Springs Campus is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Dietary Services Worker/Aide to join our team. This role is responsible for supporting daily food service operations, ensuring patients receive safe, accurate, and timely meals in accordance with physician orders, dietary guidelines, and hospital standards.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous experience in food service, healthcare, or hospitality preferred
Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices (ServSafe certification a plus)
Ability to read and follow diet orders and meal tickets accurately
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and assemble patient meal trays according to prescribed diets and menu selections
Deliver and retrieve meal trays in a timely and courteous manner
Ensure accuracy of patient diet orders and proper food portions
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, work areas, and equipment in compliance with health and safety regulations
Assist with food preparation, including washing, cutting, and portioning ingredients
Follow infection control and food safety procedures at all times
Stock supplies and maintain inventory levels as needed
Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff
Assist with dishwashing and waste disposal as required
Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards (e.g., Joint Commission, OSHA, HACCP).

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to lift, carry, and push up to 25–50 lbs
Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motions
