Medical Records Clerk, HIM, Full Time, Day Shift, Job ID # 1843929

Position Summary:

In order to ensure processing of the patient record, the Chart Prep Technician will ensure receipt of all
inpatient/outpatient /emergency department patient records; review each patient record for poor original, items
that cannot be scanned, patient identification on each document, and will group like documents in the appropriate
order. All Progress notes, Physician order, and Consultations should be in discharge order by date.

Position Qualification: (Training, Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities)

Preferred: High school graduate required with some previous work experience in Health Information Management preferred.

Education: High school graduate required. Some college or technical training preferred.

Training: At least 3 months under supervision of HIM Manager until competency is observed.

Abilities and Skills: Must be able to work at CRT most of the day. Must be able to operate computer keyboard.
Must be able to deal with detailed work.

Experience: HIM experience preferred.

Communication Skills:

Ability to effectively communicate (verbally and in writing) in English.
Ability to write legibly (Clinical Areas).
