Job Summary
The Wire Harness Technician plays a vital role in the assembly and installation of wiring systems that are essential for the functionality of various electronic products. This position is crucial for ensuring the reliability and safety of electrical connections in numerous applications, including automotive, aerospace, and industrial equipment.
Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesÂ
Assemble wire harnesses according to detailed specifications and blueprints, ensuring that all components are correctly installed and secured.Â
 Perform quality control checks throughout the assembly process to maintain high standards and prevent defects.Â
Work closely with engineering and production teams to communicate any issues, provide feedback on processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives, fostering a collaborative environment to enhance productivity.Â
Scope and ComplexityÂ
Work closely with team members to troubleshoot issues and implement efficient production techniques.Â
Participate in team meetings to discuss progress, share insights, and support continuous improvement initiatives.Â
Provide timely feedback and insights to address any challenges faced during production and recommend solutions.Â
Tools, Technology, or Equipment UsedÂ
Crimping Tools: Used to attach connectors to the ends of wires securely. These tools ensure a strong electrical connection and are essential for assembly.Â
Wire Strippers: Essential for removing the insulation from wire ends without damaging the metal conductor. These tools come in various types, including manual and automatic.Â
Soldering Irons: Utilized for soldering connections, ensuring a reliable and permanent bond between wire ends and connectors when crimping is not suitable.Â
Multimeter: A critical tool for measuring voltage, current, and resistance in wire harnesses. It’s used to test electrical circuits and ensure that connections are functioning correctly. Specialized equipment is designed to test wire harnesses for electrical continuity and performance before they are integrated into products. Cirris’s equipment is designed to test wire harnesses for electrical continuity and performance before they are integrated into products.Â
Cable Bundling materials: Used to insulate and protect wire connections. Heat guns may also be used to shrink the tubbing around the connections securely. Includes cable ties, clips, and spiral wraps that help organize and secure the wires within the harness, preventing tangles and wear.Â
Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesÂ
Understanding basic electrical principles, including voltage, current, resistance, and circuit design.Â
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics related to wire harness designs and layouts.Â
Ability to identify issues in wiring setups and implement effective solutions quickly.Â
Testing and TroubleshootingÂ
Skills in prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively to meet production deadlines.Â
Ability to perform intricate assembly tasks that require fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.Â
Capacity to work collaboratively with engineers, technicians, and other team members to achieve common goals.Â
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, tools, and methods in a fast-paced work environment.Â
Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey information clearly and participate in team discussions.Â

Must be a US Person (US Citizen, person granted US Permanent Resident Card or any individual who is granted status as a "protected person”)Â
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)Â Â

Working ConditionsÂ
Work is primarily performed in a manufacturing environment with consistent exposure to the manufacturing floor and testing environments. May require lifting up to 25 lbs and standing for extended periods of time. Â
