General Maintenance Technician

Description

The General Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining facility operations by performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring the reliability of building systems. This role supports safe and efficient operations through preventative maintenance and timely repairs. The ideal candidate is dependable, hands-on, and experienced in mechanical, electrical, and facility maintenance within an industrial environment. This is a full-time position with a schedule of 30 hours per week.

Main Function & Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems, machinery, and equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and basic PLC-related issues
• Maintain and service tools and equipment to ensure proper functionality
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and minimize downtime
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures
• Assist with facility upgrades, installations, and special maintenance projects
• Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• 4–7 years of maintenance or facilities experience
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, PLC systems, and stamping presses
• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools
• Some troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights, including on ladders
• Valid driver’s license preferred
