Summary of Performance Expectations:
The Director is responsible for developing and leading strategic and operational planning, financial management, revenue management, business development and growth initiatives related to the rehabilitation service line. As a system lead for Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy and Speech Language Pathology, the successful candidate will be responsible to provide functional integration of programs across the system and create a highly collaborative and performing team environment. Responsible for leading Inpatient Rehab Therapy, Acute Rehab, Outpatient Rehab, and Cardiopulmonary Rehab departments. Responsible for the leadership of therapy and cardiopulmonary rehab staff to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, incorporating knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life-span and across levels of care. Collects and evaluates data about patient outcomes for compliance with hospital, state and federal regulatory agencies and laws. Participates in the planning, development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures. Is responsible for the fiscal and human resource management of the departments. Responsible for developing and marketing services and regulatory compliance. Responsible for adhering to CVMC policies and procedures; abiding by the CVMC Nursing Bylaws; and practicing within the guidelines of the North Carolina State Physical Therapy Practice Act, North Carolina State Occupational Therapy Practice Act, or North Carolina State Speech Language Pathology Practice Act.Â

Education and Credentials:
Required:
Current, unrestricted NC licensure as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech-Language pathologist required. Graduate degree (Master’s or Doctorate) in a rehabilitation therapy discipline, healthcare administration, management, or related field required. Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in a rehabilitation therapy discipline and an advanced degree in therapy, healthcare administration, business administration, management, or a related field will be considered.

Demonstrated leadership and management experience within a healthcare or rehabilitation services environment.

Work Experience:
Required:
Two or more years experience in rehabilitation leadership role such as manager, coordinator, or director. Proven administrative and managerial capability. Given training and on-the-job experience incumbent should be proficient in the basic aspects of the job within six months of employment date.Â
Preferred:
Five or more years experience in a healthcare leadership role. Experience working in and/or supervising therapy settings such as inpatient rehab, acute rehab, outpatient rehab, cardiopulmonary rehab. Experience supervising multiple disciplines including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech language pathology.            Â
