Overview

SUMMARY OF POSITION

This position is designed to give early to mid career engineers a leadership growth opportunity in a well-respected manufacturing company. While reporting to the Director of Engineering, the candidate will be assigned to focus on areas of strategic importance and extended continuous improvements within our North Carolina plants.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Gains an understanding of the products, systems and people within the assigned department.  
  • Works under the direction of the Director of Engineering while partnering with a host department head, and supported by a mentor.
  • Supports assigned department as necessary.  Responsibilities can vary from project work to data analysis to administrative functions. Responsibilities should facilitate the understanding of the basic operations and functions. 
  • Assists other departments in production with respect to safety, quality and output.
  • Learn about and participate in the company culture through attending meetings, training and development sessions and getting involved.

QUALIFICATIONS

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 1-3 years of experience in Project or Process Engineering positions
  • College graduate with a BS in Engineering, Electrical or Mechanical preferred
  • Proven job skills obtained through meaningful internship or project experience
  • Proven leadership skills obtained through extracurricular activities during collegiate experience
  • Excellent communication (verbal and listening) and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral presentation skills a plus
  • Team oriented and creative.  Ability to interact with all employees
  • Exhibits a high degree of professionalism
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook are required 
  • Works well under pressure and dealing with multiple responsibilities

  • Ability to work in front of a laptop or PC workstation for extended periods of time
  • Occasional standing, sitting, walking, and talking on the phone
