Job DetailsJob Location: Century Casegoods Plant 1 - Hickory, NC 28601Position Type: Full TimeJob Shift: DayPosition Summary: Position is responsible for reading route cards and/or sketches to cut wood or veneer parts to shape or pattern using a bandsaw. Position Details: Cuts to line and holds cut to close tolerance + 1/32 Makes basic visual inspection of parts discarding those with obvious defects Stacks parts and cuts more than one at a time when possible Creates own forms, patterns and jigs as needed from scratch wood to complete task Change saw blades and does preventive maintenance as required Sets up bandsaw with forms, guides and blades as needed to run specific parts Observes plant safety rules Keeps work area clean and is quality conscious in performing duties Performs other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor QualificationsPosition Requirements: High school diploma or GED preferred Previous bandsaw experience required Must be able to read a ruler Physical Requirements: Must be able to walk, stand, climb, stoop, twist, push, pull and bend over the course of 8 hours Must be able to lift cores of 30 pounds or more Must be able to load stock on pallets
