Job DetailsJob Location: Century Casegoods Plant 1 - Hickory, NC 28601Position Type: Full TimeJob Shift: DaySummary Job Description This position is responsible for using appropriate tools to sand furniture. Essential Duties Will be required to read production tickets on the pieces of furniture being sanded Manually sands wood furniture and frames using various jigs and tools developed for sanding Repairs minor defects in the wood using appropriate tools and materials Must follow all safety policies and procedures Works as part of a team to meet or exceed production goals QualificationsPosition Requirements High school diploma or GED preferred Previous sanding experience a plus Physical Requirements The physical demands and work environment expectations described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks While standing, position will require bending, squatting, kneeling and twisting Must be able to work in noisy environments Must be able to work in dusty environments Must have manual dexterity in order to operate tools as directed Frequently lifting/carrying objects up to 25 lbs.; occasionally lifting/carrying objects up to 50 lbs.
