Job Description:

The job of an Assembler requires a wide range of knowledge and skills across many product lines. Skilled assemblers putting together complex machines read detailed schematics and blueprints that show how to assemble the machine. After determining how parts should connect, they use hand or power tools to trim, shim, cut, and make other adjustments to fit components together. Once the parts are properly aligned, they connect them with bolts and screws, or other means to mate the pieces together


Work Schedule:

路 1st Shift 4:58am-3:30 pm (10 hour shift) Monday- Thursday Subject to Change

路 Frequent overtime is required

  • Position or align components and parts manually or with hand tools
  • Use hand tools or machines to assemble parts
  • Conduct quality control checks
  • Clean and maintain work area, tools, and other equipment
  • Set up and operate machinery
  • Use measuring tools
  • Learn multiple product lines and their assemblies
  • Create good teamwork through proper leadership techniques
  • Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process
  • Understands Cycle Time and Line Balancing Concepts
  • Ensuring safety, quality and productivity standards are met
  • Maintain compliance with the standardized work
  • Observing control points and equipment; Making necessary adjustments as needed
  • Practices good 5S and housekeeping
  • Ability to understand and apply Lean Principles
  • Other duties as assigned

Relevant Work Experience: Experience as an assembler in a production environment preferred. Ability to operate a forklift is a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Standing: Most tasks are performed in a standing position with intermittent walking.
Lifting: Frequently lifting items weighing 5 lbs. to 60 lbs.; occasionally team lifting items weighing up to 100 lbs.
Walking: Frequent walking short distances (less than 1/8 mile).
Carrying: Occasional carrying of bulky items weighing up to 50 lbs. short distances.
Pushing: Use of manual hand truck and carts to occasionally move skids or parts short distances.
Pulling: Use of manual hand truck and carts to occasionally move skids or parts short distances.
Bending: Occasional bending required to perform a variety of tasks.
Reaching: Frequent reaching to load and unload parts from fixture, tubs, carts, or pallets.
Handling: Frequent handling of parts ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 60 lbs.

Gripping: Frequent gripping of varying sizes of parts

*Employees working on an industrial assembly line must have exceptional hand-eye coordination, which is the ability to visually control the hands at a rapid or constant rate. They typically perform the same task repeatedly, using their hands and power tools to complete the task.
