The David S. Congdon School of Entrepreneurship at High Point University invites applications for a Non-Tenure Promotion Track Assistant or Associate Professor, or Professor of the Practice of Hospitality Management in the Department of Event and Hospitality Management. We seek a dynamic and dedicated educator to contribute to the continued growth and excellence of our Hospitality Management program.

The successful candidate will be able to teach a range of courses within the hospitality management curriculum, including but not limited to Budget and Finance, Human Resources, Revenue Management, Marketing, and Strategic Analysis.

Preference will be given to candidates who can also support the Event Management Program through teaching and curriculum contributions.

The standard teaching load at High Point University is three 4-credit courses per semester on a nine-month contract, with the possibility of teaching additional courses during the summer. In addition to classroom instruction, faculty are expected to advise and mentor students, supervise interns, and actively contribute to service at the department, school, and university levels. While a strong research agenda in hospitality management is welcomed, it is not required for this position. Candidates without a research focus should demonstrate 7–10 years of significant industry experience and a proven ability to build and maintain professional connections that enhance opportunities for hospitality students.

Depending on experience and interest, the new faculty member will have opportunities to:

  • Develop and teach special topics, service-learning, and courses within High Point University's general education program
  • Contribute to study abroad offerings as the program continues to grow

We welcome applicants with a passion for teaching, student engagement, and program development, and who thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Candidates should be eager to help shape the future of hospitality management at High Point University.

Experience/Training:

  • Demonstrated collegiate teaching experience (preferred but not required).
  • Demonstrated 7–10 years of recent, relevant industry experience for candidates who do not pursue an academic research agenda.

Application Materials:

Attach the following documents as one PDF file:
