Recreation Services - Fitness Attendant

Job Title: Fitness Attendant
Department: Recreation Services
Location: Panther Commons Powerhouse & Wheelhouse
Pay Rate: $8.00/hour

Length of Time: Eligible for rehire on a semester basis.

Position Overview:
Fitness Attendants are responsible for supporting the daily operations and maintenance of the Powerhouse and Wheelhouse fitness facilities. This student staff member plays a key role in creating a welcoming, safe, and clean workout environment for all users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and monitor the Powerhouse and Wheelhouse facilities during scheduled shifts
• Greet and welcome all patrons entering the gym
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of fitness equipment and common areas
• Perform regular cleaning of equipment and workout spaces
• Submit maintenance and facility work orders as needed
• Ensure all equipment is in proper working condition and report any issues promptly
• Provide general assistance and information to gym users
• Promote a positive and inclusive environment for all students and guests

Qualifications:

• Must be a current High Point University student
• Reliable, responsible, and self-motivated
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Interest in fitness and recreation is a plus
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
