High Point University Health, LLC and the affiliated Oral Health Network (OHN) is a not-for-profit oral health system that is part of the Workman School of Dental Medicine (WSDM), with a mission of putting those who need our care at the center of everything we do.

The Attending Dentist, Faculty Clinician (Public Health) is a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track faculty appointment with duties in the High Point University Oral Health Network (OHN) and Workman School of Dental Medicine (WSDM), which includes the pre-doctoral Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) and post-doctoral programs. Professional rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s level of experience and qualifications at time of hire.

The Attending Dentist, Faculty Clinician (Public Health) will support clinical care, community-based oral health initiatives, and learner education. The faculty clinician will help implement and grow an innovative community-based care model through the HPU OHN Mobile Unit, with a focus on expanding access to care for underserved populations in the local High Point community. The role will also include part-time patient care at a local community care clinic and collaboration with internal and external partners to strengthen sustainable community oral health initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • DDS or DMD degree (or foreign equivalent)
  • Active dental licensure in the state of North Carolina

Experience and Training

  • 3 years of experience in clinical practice of dentistry is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience in dental education is preferred, but not required.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

ACCOUNTABILITY: 

  • Report to Chief Dental Officer (CDO)
  • Collaborates with other WSDM faculty and community partners to monitor, evaluate, and grow the success of community partnerships
  • Evaluation: Ongoing performance reviews are conducted along with an annual assessment by the CDO. These reviews include input from the faculty and students.
