Job Title:  Business Development & Operations Mgr. – Butcher Block Division

Location:  High Point, NC

Reports to:  Owner/President



Position Summary:  The Business & Operations Manager will be responsible for building the national distribution channel, managing inventory planning, leading trade show execution (including KBIS).  This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building a business from the ground up, working across sales, supply chain, and strategy.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Channel Development
    • Recruit regional distributors and wholesalers
    • Develop state territory strategy
    • Establish tiered pricing structures (Master Distributor/ Regional Distributor / Online)
    • Prevent channel conflict between distributors and online channels
    • Build and manage CRM pipeline for distributor recruitment
    • Negotiate distributor agreements and sales targets
  • Sales and Trade Show Execution
    • Prebook meetings with distributors and buyers for Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS)
    • Lead booth strategy, product presentation, and lead capture
    • Qualify distributor and wholesale leads
    • Implement 30-60-90 day follow up system
    • Convert ≥20% of qualified leads into distribution partners
    • Build relationships with kitchen dealers, cabinet shops, builders, and remodeling companies
  • Inventory and Supply Planning
    • Forecast demand based on distributor pipeline and sales velocity
    • Plan reorders based on 60-90 day lead times
    • Manage warehouse inventory levels
    • Control slow moving and aging inventory
    • Maintain 4-6 inventory turns annually
    • Coordinate container shipment schedules
  • Logistics & Operations Oversight
    • Coordinate port arrivals and container scheduling
    • Manage warehouse receiving and storage planning
    • Develop LTL and truckload freight strategies
    • Implement damage reduction and packaging improvements
    • Work closely with warehouse and customer service teams

 

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management
  • Experience in kitchen products, building materials, cabinetry, countertops, hardwood products, or home improvement distribution strongly preferred
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Prove ability to develop new accounts and grow revenue
  • Experience managing sales pipeline and ACRM systems
  • Ability to travel for trade shows, distributor meetings, and industry events
  • Highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and strategic thinker

  • Floor & Décor

Or other building materials distribution companies will be strongly considered.
