QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor’s degree required.
Master of Divinity preferred but not required.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
Event planning, hospitality, and management experience.
Planning and executing worship services and/or church/chapel/university/community events.
Office management.
Multimedia competencies (and/or ability to manage a multimedia teams).
Theological education highly suggested.

Proficiency with contemporary technology (website management, online design tools such as Canva), Microsoft Teams and Office Suite, and University data systems.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously within changing dynamics.
Personal initiative and the ability to understand and embrace the mission, vision and purpose of the University Chapel and its programs; personally invested in the quality of the Chapel and its programs.
Ability to use independent judgment and discretion in discharging responsibilities
Ability to work evenings, variable hours, and weekends as occasionally required for programs, including travel.
Demonstrates professionalism, dependability, honesty, integrity and congeniality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provides overall leadership and management for all Chapel programs, including Wednesday evening worship services, Family and Alumni weekend services, and other special services and programs.
Oversees all event details, including maintenance and supervision of the audio/video team, as well as chapel setup for each event.
Ability to supervise and assess needs for student employment teams, including:
Social media and Content Creation team
Audio/Video team for Weekly Chapel (in collaboration with Director of Chapel Music)
Office Assistants
Advent and Lent Devotionals team
Manages and monitors, with the Minister to the University, the program budget, using the University online systems, requisitions funds allocated for the programs, student needs, etc.
Coordinates and facilitates guest speakers, guest musicians (in collaboration with Director of Music) and student groups who serve and perform in the Chapel worship services and programs.
Manages and edits the Chapel and Religious Life Website, keeping content and images up to date.
Oversee social media team for effective and appropriate use of social media (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and Youtube) to extend HPU Chapel’s mission.
Ability to travel occasionally (principally with HPU Chapel’s Pilgrimage program), which would require over-nights and weekends with students. Such travel would require the ability to drive students.
Maintains ongoing evaluation and improvement of programs to make them relevant and meaningful to today’s students and in accordance with the overall student-centered philosophy of the University in general and the Chapel in particular.
Other duties as assigned.
WORK SCHEDULE:
This is a full-time position, requiring some nights and weekends to accommodate worship schedules for the HPU student body.

Reporting Structure:
Director of Chapel Programs reports to the Vice President & Minister to the University.
