Environmental Air Systems, a full-service mechanical contractor, is seeking a skilled overhead Crane Operator to join our manufacturing shop in High Point, North Carolina.

Schedule: 6:00am-4:30pm with OT as necessary

Location: 250 Swathmore Ave High Point, NC 27263

Responsibilities:

  • Operate various types of cranes, such as overhead cranes to lift, move, and position materials, equipment, and components as needed. 

  • Conduct pre-operational checks on the crane and related equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.

  • Interpret load charts and rigging diagrams to determine load capacities, rigging configurations, and lifting procedures. 

  • Coordinate with supervisors, riggers, and other team members to plan and execute lifting operations safely and efficiently. 

  • Inspect lifting attachments, slings, and rigging hardware for defects or damage before each lift and report any issues to supervisors or maintenance personnel. 

  • Monitor crane operations closely to ensure safe and precise movement of loads, adjusting crane controls as needed to maintain stability and control. 

  • Communicate effectively with ground crew, spotters, and other personnel involved in lifting operations to coordinate movements and ensure safety. 

  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of cranes and related equipment, including lubrication, cleaning, and minor adjustments, to ensure optimal performance. 

  • Participate in training programs to improve skills and knowledge related to crane operation, safety procedures, and company policies. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management to support the overall goals and objectives of the company.

Education Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Reading and speaking proficiency in either English or Spanish required.

  • Minimum of a high school education or equivalent

  • Valid crane operator certification or license. 

  • Proven experience as a crane operator in a manufacturing or construction environment. 

  • Strong understanding of crane operation principles, load dynamics, and rigging techniques. 

  • Ability to interpret load charts, rigging diagrams, and other technical documents. 

Job Requirements/Special Skills:

  • Ability to speak and read either English or Spanish required

  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness. 

  • Ability to work at heights  

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in crane operation and load handling.

  • Ability to work independently and on a team

  • Strong verbal communication skills

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Ability to stand and work for prolonged periods of time

  • Ability to work in conditions of varying heat and cold where noise levels are at or above 90 decibels
