High School English Teacher

Job DetailsJob Location: Westchester Country Day School - High Point, NC 27265Westchester Country Day School, a Pre-K through 12th grade independent school located in High Point, NC, seeks an Upper School English teacher to join our faculty starting in the 2026-27 academic year. Responsibilities typically include teaching five sections of Upper School English classes in addition to serving as an Upper School advisor and club sponsor. Westchester’s Upper School English classes combine literature and composition and include the following course titles: American Literature Honors, World Literature Honors, AP English Language and Composition, AP Literature, Advanced English 10, English 10 Honors, and English 9 Honors.  The ideal candidate holds a B.A. in English, preferably a Master’s degree in English or education, is comfortable with and knowledgeable of a variety of student developmental levels and skills, designs lessons that develop critical thinking and reading skills, and has experience teaching writing at the secondary level. Experience teaching at the middle or high school level is preferred.  Westchester teachers are professional, build strong relationships with students, and are active members in all aspects of the school community.
