Responsibilities

The Strategic Financial Analyst – Enterprise Analytics serves as a key business partner to Finance, Underwriting, and Distribution by developing high-quality analytics, dashboards, and financial models that enable data-driven decision making across the organization. This role operates under the guidance of the Controller, who provides direction on financial definitions, priorities, and enterprise reporting standards. The analyst will focus on building scalable analytics, improving data transparency, and modernizing financial reporting while developing a strong understanding of underwriting and distribution economics within a workers’ compensation insurance environment. This role is intended to grow in scope and responsibility as Key Risk’s enterprise analytics capabilities mature.

 

The candidate must sit out of the High Point, NC office.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze P&L and balance sheet performance, performing variance analysis to explain business results
  • Conduct Underwriting and Distribution analytics related to profitability, pricing, and production, identifying key drivers and opportunities
  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards supporting Finance, Underwriting, and Distribution performance
  • Support forecasting and planning processes through data modeling and scenario analysis
  • Maintain enterprise data integrity and support internal/external audit processes
  • Assist in migrating Excel and legacy SQL processes into a modern cloud-based data environment
  • Enhance and automate recurring reporting and month-end close activities where possible using modern tools
  • Document assumptions, methodologies, and data sources to support transparency and auditability

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of experience in Finance, FP&A, Analytics, or related roles
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with Power BI or similar BI tools
  • Basic to intermediate SQL experience
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and communication skills
  • Ability to translate data into clear insights for non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or Azure
  • Experience in predictive analytics, automation, and finance transformation
  • Exposure to insurance, underwriting, pricing, or distribution analytics

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business (Analytics, MIS, or similar concentration), or related field.
