The Phillips School of Business Marketing Department at High Point University seeks applicants for an Assistant Professor or Professor of the Practice in Career Preparedness and Business Communications, with an anticipated start date of August 2026.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • A master’s degree/doctorate in communications, an MBA, or similar degree in a related field.

Experience and Training

  • Work experience in a business setting.
  • University-level teaching experience is required

Knowledge, Skills, Ability:

  • Applicants must have a commitment to the development of the undergraduate student’s career preparation and professionalism growth, quality teaching, personal professional growth, and university service.
  • Must be qualified through work experience or teaching experience to teach career development and sections of BUA 2990 Business Communications as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  

  • Teaching, Student Advising, Course Administration (grading, performance monitoring, and reporting), and Student Counseling
  • Department/School/University committee duties as assigned

ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Prepare, deliver, and administer university-level courses as directed by the Chair
