High Point University is seeking a full-time Manager of Family Programs to join the Office of Institutional Advancement. This position manages volunteerism, communications, and engagement for HPU families, with a special focus on families at the Leadership Annual Giving level. The Manager oversees programming and special events for the President’s Leadership Cabinet (PLC), and leads the creation, implementation, and evaluation of digital communications strategies for PLC Family Programs. The successful candidate will also assist in the cultivation and solicitation of annual family leadership donors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required.

Experience and Training

  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in fundraising, alumni or parent engagement, volunteer management, digital communications, or sales, preferably in a university or nonprofit setting.

Knowledge, Skills, Ability:

  • Strong skills in digital communications, including strategy, content creation, and performance tracking across email, social media, and web platforms.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in donor management software, preferably Raiser’s Edge.
  • Knowledge of and ability to execute strategies for social media, websites, and other digital platforms to support donor and volunteer engagement.
  • Ability to recruit, supervise, and train students and volunteers.
  • Discretion and professionalism when working with high-level donors and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed; minimal travel required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  

  • Family Engagement & Stewardship
  • Manages daily operations and engagement strategies for the President’s Leadership Cabinet (PLC), serving as the primary point of contact for these families.
  • Partners with internal stakeholders to provide information and support for PLC families, ensuring a high-quality donor experience.
  • Works closely with the Director of Development Operations and Manager of Digital Communications on PLC outreach and support.
  • Works with Advancement Officers, and Institutional Advancement Leadership to engage, cultivate, and retain families at the Leadership Annual Giving level, moving them through the donor pipeline.
  • Executes stewardship plans tailored to PLC families, in coordination with the Manager of Gratitude and Stewardship.
  • Implements and evaluates strategic digital communications plans for PLC Family Programs, including monthly e-newsletters, stewardship communications, and targeted solicitations.
  • Develops and curate relevant content for digital platforms, including email, social media, and web, to engage PLC families and strengthen their connection to HPU.
  • Collaborates with the Manager of Digital Communications and Manager of Creative Strategy to ensure accurate and compelling PLC web content and branding.
  • Monitors analytics to assess communication effectiveness and refine strategies to improve engagement and fundraising results.
  • Coordinates with Manager of Advancement Events to execute PLC event processes, communications, and follow-up.
  • Hire, train, and manages student employees to support family programs and advancement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Ensures accurate and timely communication of family engagement opportunities through digital and personal outreach.
  • Drives growth in family leadership giving by strategically engaging PLC families.
  • Partners with advancement leadership to build a robust pipeline of donors and volunteers who champion HPU’s mission and vision.
