Job DetailsJob Location: Atlantic Division - High Point, NC 27260Position Type: Full-TimeJob Shift: 1st Shift Cascade Die Casting Group Job Description/Expectations  JOB TITLE: Material Handler CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt DIVISION/DEPARTMENT: Atlantic / Logistics DATE DEVELOPED: 03/2023 REPORTS TO:  Logistics Manager  POSITION SCOPE: The Material Handler (MH) is responsible of moving parts (Raw aluminum, melted aluminum, WIP Castings and Finished Goods (FG)) through the stations, as required. Material Handlers are accountable to keep all areas always organized and clean. The MH can be assigned any route designed in Cascade Operations structure (Shipping & Receiving, Scrap, FG, Finishing, PCD Operations, etc).  ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES  Keep production workstations stocked with material needed to produce. Follow specific work instructions for assigned route. Detects and reports improper conditions or operations of forklift and requests maintenance as appropriate. Ensure all materials are kept in their designated storage area. Report any concerns regarding the organization of areas to your immediate supervisor. Learn new tasks and adapt to frequent job duty changes which includes cross training and working on multiple routes as required by business and manpower demands. Follows instructions from supervisor to adapt to any short-term requirements. Load and unload trailers and trucks as required. Properly completes daily paperwork. Maintain clean and orderly work area consistent with safety and work rules and regulations. Work safely around and/or while operating heaving equipment or manufacturing machinery. Work overtime hours as required and be available for emergency overtime when the need arises. Regularly report for work on time with a desire to perform to the best of your abilities. Comply with all company employment policies, procedures/processes, and programs. Performs duties in compliance quality, as well as safety policies, procedures/processes, and programs. Participate in continuous improvement activities. Work cooperatively with others in a team environment. Exhibit Companies Core Values. High School Diploma preferred. Basic computer skills. Specific physical requirements of the position include the ability to continuously and repetitively: Sit for prolonged periods of time. Read standardized work instructions Operate forklifts Wear personal protective equipment, for example: safety glasses, gloves, hats, ear plugs, and steel-toed safety shoes. Work in a loud manufacturing environment that is not climate controlled (conditions can be hot or cold). Bend, push, pull, twist, and reach to perform work. Ability to see clearly at close and distance ranges, distinguish colors, maintain peripheral vision, perceive depth, and adjust focus as necessary. Use hand positioning to grip/grasp controls of forklift or other equipment. Frequently and repetitively: Walk and standing Occasionally: Lift or carry materials weighing up to 20 pounds and periodically care or lift materials weighing up to 50lbs.
