Role Description

Dallas Country Club is currently seeking qualified individuals for Bartender position in our Sports Grill. DCC, founded in 1896, is the most exclusive and prestigious private club in the area and we pride ourselves on hiring the best of the best.  We are seeking a friendly, skilled, and experienced Bartender to join our team. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for preparing and serving beverages to our guests, maintaining a clean and organized bar, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate is passionate about mixology, has a strong understanding of drink recipes, and creates a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the legal and responsible serving of alcohol, adhering to local regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge about alcoholic beverages, cocktails, and wine.
  • Assist bar attendant in setting up bar, unlocking liquor, icing, glassware, juices and garnishes.
  • Accept drink orders from servers in proper calling orders to keep bar service at the optimum level of service for our guests.
  • Red line all drink orders, checking for correct prices. No drinks to be made without pre-rung guest check.
  • Total compliance with conditions as outlined in Beverage Service Personnel Work Agreement.
  • Follow proper procedures for guest handling, i.e., house charges. Self-cashiering is a great responsibility, and you are responsible for your checks.
  • All cocktails are to be made in accordance with DCC standard beverage recipes, always using the standardized jigger.
  • Be able to operate the electronic cash register POS that is currently in use. No voids or deletions without prior management approval.
  • Check out with manager or supervisor or host/ess prior to leaving; complete tally sheets.
  • Spill log and end of shift report. 
  • Day bartender will receive and check liquor against previous night's requisitions. Any discrepancies with the receiving order will be brought to the attention of the beverage manager. Night bartender will requisition liquor in accordance with the posted par sheets.
  • At no time leave the bar area unless properly relieved by a manager, supervisor or another bartender.
  • Assist night bar attendant with mopping floors, emptying trash cans and general sanitation, to include speed rails, counters, melting ice in bins and wiping all stainless.
  • Have available DCC beverage recipes, beverage department standard operating procedures and sanitation checklist.
  • Check and have stock on register tape and any other operation supplies.
  • Night bartenders will be responsible for bar security in the area of responsibility.
  • Bartenders are never allowed to add gratuities to a check without the approval of guest or management.
  • Tip glasses should never be in the view of the guest.
  • Inspect the bar prior to opening to ensure that adequate supplies are available.
  • Requests additional supplies as necessary and stocks the bar.
  • Follows set-up procedures.
  • Prepare garnishes, mixes and pre-mixed drinks.
  • Greet members and guests.
  • Collects checks and payment for drinks served.
  • Reports complaints to a manager as soon as they occur.
  • Maintains and cleans the bar area and equipment.
  • Maintains records of liquors, beers, wine, tobacco and sundries to ensure bar stock is always maintained.
  • Maintains daily inventory and records indicating drinks in the greatest demand.
  • Cleans and locks up the bar area according to prescribed procedures.
  • Attend staff meetings including pre-shift (line-up) sessions as required.
  • Carefully follows all laws and club policies and procedures regarding alcoholic beverage service and informs manager if continued service to a member or guest is in question.
  • Serve drinks to members and guests seated at lounge tables in the absence of a beverage server.
  • Continually practice beverage and revenue control procedures.
  • Thank members and guests; invite them to return.
  • Participate in special events.   Helping with set up, operation, and breakdown of Club events.
  • Completes other appropriate work assignments as requested by management.

 

The ideal candidate will have the following experience, skills, and knowledge:

  • 1-2 years bartending experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Country club or high-end restaurant experience a plus.
  • Food Handling certification required.
  • TABC certification required.
