Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Occupational Therapist to develop and implement individualized treatment sessions to assist students in achieving their functional and academic goals 
  • Collaborate with teachers and other members of the multidisciplinary team to support and enhance a student’s motor development, sensory integration, and functional abilities within the school setting 
  • Collaborate with teachers and other members of the multidisciplinary team to adapt and modify the classroom environment and/or classroom activities to promote a student's participation and independence 
  • Assist Occupational Therapist with assessments and screening to identify a student's strengths and weaknesses 
  • Collects and maintains data for progress monitoring 
  • Assist in the preparation of IEPs and participate in the IEP meetings, providing clarity and insight into reports/data 

 

Requirements

  • Valid certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) from an accredited program 
  • Current state license or eligibility to practice as an OTA
