JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The Sports Information Student-Worker opening reports directly to the Sports Information Director and Asst. Sports Information Director. Responsible for assisting with the day-to-day coverage of Penn State Harrisburg’s 19 varsity sports.
Job Duties
- Maintaining statistics and records for several sports.
- Preparation of game programs.
- Assisting with game-day operations.
- Stat calling and inputting.
- Preparation and distribution of press releases.
- Writing news releases and event recaps.
- Updating social media accounts, assisting in the live streaming of athletic events.
- Public address announcing.
- Play-by-play and/or color commentary.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 2 to 10 hours per week, depending on the time of year.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Must be able to work afternoons, evenings and weekends.
- Strong writing skills, general knowledge of athletics, graphic design and video production are preferred.
May require the ability to work in an outdoor environment in adverse weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
