The Position
AGCEA has an excellent opportunity for an Assembly Operator 1 on our Day Shift.

Persons in this role work in a manufacturing environment to join and assemble Silicon Carbide (SiC) green products according to drawings and specifications.

Successful candidates will have the ability follow written standard procedures and demonstrate a keen eye for detail while working with ceramic materials.  

The selected candidate will demonstrate a willingness to learn and will be a trusted teammate who exercises initiative.  

In this job role you will:

• Manually shapes components to precise blueprint specifications using a variety of sanding instruments.
• Utilize fixtures, measuring devices, and gauge blocks to set up and prepare assembled products to precise blueprint specifications.
• Using joining techniques connects assembled product by precision application of slurry in joints.
• Manually finishes joints to conceal and complete joining process.
• Measure joined products to verify specifications.
• Use proper procedure to move and handle green products.
• Perform minor preventative maintenance on relevant fixtures and machinery in the area.
• Adhere to all required safety protocols.

Qualified candidates will have:

• A High School diploma or GED.
• Willingness to learn company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks.
• Ability to work in a variety of positions while performing fine hand movements.
• Prior experience sanding, grinding, shaping, and using measuring devices.
• Ability to interpret blueprints. 
• Ability to follow detailed instructions.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively.
• Proven ability to work individually and in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to work/wear protective equipment (PPE) and proper apparel when on the manufacturing floor.
• Basic computer skills

Ideal candidate will have:

• Evidence of artistic abilities and/or experience using paintbrushes and working with ceramic materials.
• Prior experience in a fabrication or body-shop environment.
• Experience with calipers, height gauges, and fixture set-up.
• Interest in or experience with building models.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing or shop environment.

The AGCEA Day Shift is 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday
