SUMMARY: 

Qorvo is looking for a Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance Technician in Thin Films that will fit well into the company culture. We are seeking a candidate who is intelligent and flexible – someone who can change priorities at a moment’s notice and someone who is enthusiastic about learning and growing as a technician in the semiconductor industry. 

 

This is a non-exempt position working on a compressed work week shift – night shift (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Saturday from 6:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.). This is a factory position and requires wearing cleanroom attire and working in a cleanroom environment. You may be required to wear PPE and be exposed to hazardous processing materials. 

  

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on wafer fabrication equipment 

  • Work closely with the factory management team to prioritize job tasks 

  • Work closely with peers, supervisor, and engineering team to deeply understand root cause of failure and use those learnings to continuously improve equipment availability to meet production goals 

  • Work with vendors, field service and technical representatives, and may be required to attend classes, seminars, vendor training if required 

  • Attend shift pass-down meetings and communicate daily activities 

  • Document all work performed on equipment 

  

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Associate degree in a technical discipline or equivalent military experience is required 

  • A minimum of 2 years’ hands on technical maintenance experience in high volume semiconductor environment 

  • The ideal candidate will have direct experience on wafer fabrication equipment in a cleanroom environment 

  • Candidate must adhere to all company safety protocols 

  • Demonstrated proficiency in collaboration with others to make improvements through experimentation and drive toward standardized methods 

  • Strong mechanical, electronic, and troubleshooting skills required 

  • Candidate must have solid workplace soft skills 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be fluent in English 

  • Candidate must be comfortable navigating and operating computers 

  • Basic familiarity of MS Office programs is a plus 

  • Flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and responsibilities 

  • Hands-on participation and strong sense of ownership 

  • Ability to work under minimum supervision in a fast paced, high volume production environment 

  • Must be physically capable of standing/walking up to 12 hours per shift and lift up to 35 pounds 

  • Must be physically capable of supporting equipment maintenance that requires occasionally bending, twisting, kneeling, reaching, squatting, etc. 

  • Must be able to wear a respirator and other personal protective equipment (PPE) for possible work handling hazardous materials 

  • Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
