Responsibilities:

Under direct and general supervision, performs a variety of moderate to complex technical tasks to assist engineering and production with selective soldering of complicated high-reliability printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs). Primary responsibilities are developing selective soldering programs, soldering PCBAs and performing preventive and correct maintenance. Conducts routine problem solving and failure analysis to solve process problems and resolve product quality issues. Follows written and verbal instructions to complete assigned tasks. Assigned duties require the use of good judgment and good technical skills. Assignments must be completed with an awareness of all documented processes.


  • Understand and apply selective soldering parameters to create robust soldering programs.
  • Develop, maintain and update selective soldering programs for all PCBAs.
  • Selective solder PCBAs to support daily production schedule.
  • Help maintain, troubleshoot, repair and upgrade selective soldering machines.
  • Provide failure analysis and root cause corrective action for process and quality problems.
  • Train and mentor other selective soldering machine operators.
  • Follow all applicable procedures and work instructions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: High School diploma or higher. 
  • Experience: One (1) to five (5) years of experience with printed circuit assembly.
  • Knowledge of electronic components, printed circuit boards and printed circuit assemblies.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, bills of materials and other product design documents.
  • Professional Level Communication Skills – verbal and written.
  • Computer Skills: High level of proficiency with PC’s and standard tools such as Word and Excel.
  • Able to stand and work for eight hours in a workday.

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

  • Knowledge of IPC workmanship standards.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving knowledge.
