About this role

As a Surgical Technician at Emplify Health by Gundersen Hillsboro, you will be an essential member of the surgical team, helping ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care for every patient. In this role, you will support surgeons, nurses, and other team members in a collaborative environment where attention to detail, teamwork, and patient safety are at the center of everything we do. Your work will help bring empathy amplified to life for patients in our rural community.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare the operating room and sterile field for surgical procedures
  • Pass instruments, equipment, and supplies accurately and efficiently during procedures
  • Maintain aseptic technique and support patient safety throughout the surgical case
  • Assist with room turnover, restocking, specimen handling, and preparation for upcoming procedures
  • Support circulating duties, precept new staff, and contribute to smooth department operations

What you will need

  • Completion of a Surgical Technician Program
  • Ability to maintain sterile technique and work effectively in a surgical setting
  • Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and communication skills
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification within 2 years of hire is desired
  • Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
