Dynamic Manufacturing, Inc. is searching for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing team!  The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for all processes, continuous improvements, tooling, and manufacturing and plant layouts. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will oversee one or more product lines or facilities, with the responsibility for optimizing manufacturing processes, enhancing production efficiency, and ensuring product quality. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive and implement process development and improvements, troubleshoot manufacturing issues, and support and/or lead new product launches.

Roles and Responsibilities:


Technical Mastery:

  • Assist in developing, documenting, and maintaining manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment
  • Participate in process validation activities and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist in implementing engineering changes with minimal production disruption
  • Support creation and updates of process documentation
  • Conduct time studies and support line balancing activities


Product Line Management:
  • Provide technical input for tooling and gage design
  • Assist in evaluating automation solutions and equipment improvements
  • Support installation, validation, and startup of new equipment or production lines
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to address recurring equipment issues
  • Troubleshoot day-to-day production issues relate to equipment, tooling, and process variation

Process Development, Optimization and Continuous Improvement:
  • Support process development and optimization
  • Support Lean initiatives, implementations, and sustainment
  • Collect and analyze production data to identify opportunities to improve throughput, reduce waste, and enhance yield
  • Assist in workstation and layout improvements to improve ergonomics, safety, material flow, and cycle time
  • Collaborate with Production and Quality teams to reduce defects and implement corrective/preventive actions

Strategic Leadership:
  • Demonstrate ownership of assigned projects and tasks
  • Communicate project updates to leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Support departmental goals that align with plant objectives
  • Prioritize workload to achieve production and project deadlines
  • Develop foundational project management skills through small-scale initiatives

Customer Support:
  • Assist in resolving manufacturing-related customer concerns
  • Support audits and compliance activities related to manufacturing processes
  • Lead Process Change Request initiatives 

Mentorship and Training:
  • Support training of operators and operations team on new processes or updated work instructions
  • Promote adherence to standardized processes on the production floor

Cost and Quality Improvements:
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities related to materials, labor, tooling
  • Support scrap and rework reduction initiatives
  • Monitor key quality indicators and escalate concerns appropriately

Collaborative Efforts:
  • Support new product launches
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings and project updates


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or other engineering discipline or equivalent related work experience
  • Proficient in CAD software (Solidworks, AutoCAD, Inventor, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles and experience participating in Kaizen, 5S, or other lean initiatives
  • Knowledgeable in developing and applying documentation such as APQP, PFMEA, Work Instructions, Process Flow Diagrams, and applying them to support product and process development
  • Familiarity with standard manufacturing equipment, tools, and controls used in industrial production environments 
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of safety, quality, productivity, demand planning, and operational stewardship principles
  • Familiarity with time studies, line balancing, and standard work development
  • Exposure to problem solving methodologies such as Root Cause Analysis, 5 Whys, 8D, etc.
  • Understanding of tooling, fixturing, and basic equipment and automation used in manufacturing environments
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and productivity
  • Basic understanding of business management principles, including budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, etc.
  • Ability to contribute to project planning activities, including timelines, resource coordination, and progress tracking
  • Skilled in prioritizing tasks and projects in alignment with production demands and organizational objectives
  • Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with operations, quality, maintenance, and supply chain to support manufacturing objectives
  • Maintains accurate documentation and communicates project updates to stakeholders and leadership when required
  • Demonstrates initiative in identifying issues and proposing practical solutions to improve processes and efficiency
  • Builds effective working relationships with operators, technicians, and engineers to support production and engineering activities
