Job Description

Summary:

The Porter will be responsible for keeping all working areas and physical surroundings of the plant in a clean and orderly condition.  This operation is to be performed keeping safety as a primary objective and following established GMP, Safety, Regulatory and Company procedures and policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supporting the plant's food safety culture and complying with all food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements applicable to the position. 

  • Clean and sanitize production floors in accordance with facility cleaning schedules. 

  • Remove trash and food waste from designated areas; ensure waste is disposed of properly. 

  • Sweep, mop, scrub floors; operate floor-cleaning equipment as required. 

  • Maintain cleanliness of loading docks and entryways. 

  • Assist with cleaning production areas needed. 

  • Follow proper chemical handling procedures and maintain accurate chemical usage logs. 

  • Ensure compliance with GMPs and all company safety policies. 

  • Report maintenance issues or unsafe conditions to management immediately. 

  • Support special cleaning projects during plant shutdowns or as directed. 

  • Adapts to shifting priorities and assists wherever needed to meet company goals. 

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • 1+ year of experience in janitorial, sanitation, or facility maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or food production environment.
  • Knowledge of basic cleaning and sanitation practices
  • Ability to read and follow safety instructions and cleaning schedules.
  • Strong attention to detail to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Additional Information

Physical:  Ability to lift 50 Pounds, climb stairs, lift, bend, kneel, stand for long periods of time, work in confined spaces, and work with heights

Compensation: $18.06

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Candidate must consent a background screening, drug test and physical.
