JOB SUMMARY:    

The Clinical Base Trainer is responsible for delivering prepared education related to equipment, patient care guidelines and/or clinical care at their assigned base(s). A standardized training schedule is provided by the Regional Clinical Education Manager (RCEM). This position reports to the RCEM. This position proactively grows with the organization to support innovative and high-quality base-level education.

 

This position is subject to the Crew Safe Weight Policy. All other requirements of the Crew Safe Weight Policy apply to this position.

 

This position will receive a stipend of $250 per pay period.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare or related field strongly preferred. May substitute direct years of experience in similar position for educational years. 
  • Current instructor status in BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP preferred.
  • 3 years medical transport experience preferred as related to current position
  • Meets qualifications of Flight Nurse, Flight Paramedic, Flight Respiratory Therapist or Ground Paramedic and maintains current applicable state credentials. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.  
  • Demonstrates positive interpersonal and communication skills with co-workers, patients, families, physicians and the community. 
  • Demonstrates knowledge of clinical care and operations, including staff development.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with a willingness to lead by example. 
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license, have access to an automobile in good repair, be able to provide proof of auto insurance, meet LFN’s Driver’s Policy requirements and able to travel whenever and wherever business needs necessitate. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

The Clinical Base Trainer reports to the Regional Clinical Education Manager and works closely with the Education Department and key interdepartmental stakeholders to support clinical training needs and standardized curriculum. Maintenance and compliance are adhered to in the following areas:   

  • Provides in-person scheduled clinical education and/or training of clinical at assigned base(s) as directed by the published annual Clinical Education plan.
  • Maintains “super-user” status on all pertinent clinical equipment. 
  • AHA (or equivalent) instructor status with annual pre-scheduled base testing sessions.
  • NRP instructor status with scheduled base testing sessions (if within scope).
  • Assists education department with clinical simulation and advanced skills competency maintenance.
  • Maintains base education training supplies and requests needs with the RCEM. 
  • Participates in scheduled meetings with the clinical education department. 
  • Compliance with departmental and company policies and procedures.
  • Keeps clinical crew members current on new equipment and processes related to education in accordance with LFN policy and procedures.
