JOB SUMMARY
- The Assistant Tennis Professional serves as a key member of the Jupiter Island Club Tennis Department, delivering exceptional instruction, programming support, and member service. Under the direction of the Director of Tennis, this position is responsible for teaching private and group lessons, assisting with tennis events and clinics, facilitating member play opportunities, and supporting the overall operation of the tennis program.
The Assistant Tennis Professional creates a welcoming, engaging, and professional environment for Members and guests while helping to maintain the Club's standards of excellence, hospitality, and personalized service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teach private lessons, semi-private lessons, clinics, and group instruction for Members and guests of varying ages and skill levels.
- Deliver instruction that is engaging, technically sound, and tailored to the individual needs and goals of each player.
- Assist with arranging games, facilitating court activities, and coordinating player matchups to promote participation and Member engagement.
- Support the execution of adult and junior programming, including clinics, round robins, tournaments, exhibitions, and special events.
- Assist with holiday and seasonal tennis programming, including junior camps and special Member activities.
- Maintain accurate records of lessons, clinics, and instructional activities and ensure timely submission of billing information.
- Assist with daily court setup, breakdown, and preparation to ensure courts and surrounding areas are maintained in excellent condition.
- Provide Tennis Shop support as needed, including assisting Members with merchandise purchases, answering questions, and supporting daily operations.
- Support racquet stringing, grip replacement, and other basic equipment services as directed.
- Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or equipment issues promptly to the Director of Tennis.
- Build positive relationships with Members, guests, and fellow team members through professional, courteous, and attentive service.
- Assist with onboarding new Members into the tennis program and introduce them to Club tennis activities and events.
- Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain a professional appearance and uphold all Club policies, standards of conduct, and service expectations.
- Work cooperatively with all Club departments to ensure a seamless Member experience.
- Other duties as may be assigned related to this position.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum one (1) year of tennis instruction experience required.
- Private club, resort, or hospitality experience preferred.
- Current PTR, RSPA (formerly USPTA), USTA Coach, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Current professional tennis certification preferred.
- CPR/AED certification required or ability to obtain upon hire.
- Valid Driver's License preferred.
