The Data Center Site Manager, (DCSM) is responsible for ensuring that all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center is operating at peak efficiency. This involves both planned preventative maintenance of equipment, daily corrective work, and emergency response to emergent issues.
The DCSM serves as an expert technical resource reporting to the Regional Director and interacting with On-Site Engineering Operations Technicians (EOT) and any third-party vendors. They are expected to be a singular focal point for all facility operations within a given data center. Data center equipment that supports mission-critical servers must maintain better than 99.999% uptime. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, standby diesel generators, switchgear, UPSs, PDUs, AHUs, chillers, cooling towers, chemical treatment systems, pumps, motors, VFDs, and building automation systems.Â
Responsibilities:Â
Core Responsibilities will include but not limited to:Â
- Empowering a culture of safety, security, compliance, and transparency in allaspectof datacenter activitiesÂ
- Leading and managing a team of high-performing individual contributors at a data center site and their ongoing talent developmentÂ
- Financial administration of site activities and staff members, tracking budgets, payments and pay cycles.Â
- Managing and overseeing datacenter site services, resources, and deployment across the data center for the client in MontrealÂ
- Collaborating and coordinating with multiple internal business groups to ensure the successful delivery of service levelsÂ
- Analyzing production operations andinitiatecorrective actions to ensure operational stabilityÂ
- Initiate andestablishquality standards for the Datacenter teams and manage those initiatives through to completionÂ
- Learn, live, and coach the Salute culture and values. Lead through change and challenge by bringing clarity, generating energy, and delivering successÂ
- Operate, monitor,maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in facilities systems.Â
- Complete planned and ad-hoc preventive maintenance work assignmentsrequiringthe skill and direction of several engineering, mechanical, and maintenance tradesÂ
- Conduct periodic inspections of building systems, i.e., HVAC, electrical distribution,maintainmechanical equipment rooms to ensure clean and safe conditionsÂ
- Rapid response, investigation, and management of indoor emergency situations and air quality complaintsÂ
- Havea completeworking knowledge on creating, closing, and tracking "work requests" (WR). Initiate or respond to work orders, follow-up and verify completion of work
- Monitor performance/note deficiencies of service contractors and recommend changes as necessaryÂ
- Managing the workload across all shifts and resources, ensuring a balanced approach to work activity,tasksand the accomplishment of results and outcomes.
- In collaboration with the Human Resources manager, performing the functions and planningregardingshift cycles, people and resource deployment, payment, salaries, and other related staff activities, as they may ariseÂ
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by managementÂ

- Manage multiple complex projects simultaneouslyÂ
- Estimate cost of client installationsÂ
- Analyze and interpret complex project documents such as AutoCAD and VisioÂ
- Analyze and propose solutions with limited informationÂ
- Interpret instructionsfurnishedin written, oral, diagram or schedule formÂ
- Advanced analytical and quantitative skillsÂ
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills to effectively respond to sensitive and complex issuesÂ
- The ability to create effective presentations and communicate with both internal and external customersÂ
- A demonstrated commitment to customer service for both coworkers and customersÂ
- Experience developing operating and maintenance standards and project tracking/management documentsÂ
- Knowledge of applicable laws and ordinances in performing data, communications, and MEP projectsÂ
- The skill to provide oversight to team members for guidance and coachingÂ
- Experience working well under pressure with a proactive approachÂ
- Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a willingness to acceptnew ideasand proceduresÂ
- Experience using Microsoft office tools like Excel, PowerPoint, and Word to create presentations and reportsÂ
- Enhance existing skill setsÂ
- Direct operations, technical and engineering personnel to ensure established processes and procedures are followedÂ
- Perform, or oversee and manage the periodic audits of maintenance MOPs, equipmentSOPsand Emergency Operator Procedures (EOPs) to ensure quality, accuracy, and conformance with company standards and industry best practiceÂ
- Perform periodic audits of site Change Management activity, to ensure accuracy of information and quality of supporting documentationÂ
- Collect and report operating metrics for sites to track andmonitorsite performance and efficiencyÂ
- Coordinate major activities among sites and track major outstanding issues to resolutionÂ
- Provide input for and drive the development of client improvement solutions to includeaccuratedescriptions,savings potential, and cost estimatesÂ
- Develop operating standards, processes, and procedures, rules, and regulationsÂ
- Review drawings and perform site surveys toidentifymechanical, electrical, and control systems and facility operational characteristicsÂ
- Manage relationships with customer, property management and internal teams and external stakeholders, where applicable andrequired.Â
Qualifications:Â
- A minimum of 3+ years ofdirectly relatedexperience in the operation, installation, and maintenance of data center critical equipment, building systems with in-depth technical understanding and knowledge of all HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and control systemsÂ
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two+ years’ experience in electrical systems,refrigerationand/or HVAC. Or equivalent combination of education and experienceÂ
- Knowledge of the electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center environment,including:Feeders, Transformers, Generators, Switchgear, UPS systems, ATS/STS units, PDU/PMM units, Chillers, Air handling units and CRAC units
- Good observation skills and problem-solving abilityÂ
- As a condition of employment, the employee must successfully complete a background investigation
Site Location: We operate a 24-hour facility where work hours (shifts) are assigned as needed to ensure job functions are performed satisfactorily, compliance is maintained, and the company operates efficiently. Certain positions, as specified in your offer letter, may require working irregular hours, such as nights, weekends, overtime, alternating shifts, and under various conditions, including outdoor work during extreme weather or in hazardous environments.Â

Compensation & Benefits DisclosureÂ
The base salary for this role is $120,000 per year. This pay reflects a good‑faith estimate of what we reasonably expect to pay upon hire, based on factors such as skills, experience, education, and market/location. Our comprehensive benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, Health Savings Account (HSA), gym discount, mental health, Discounted Group Life & AD&D, Discounted Group Short & Long-term Disability, 401(k) retirement matching, PTO/paid holidays, and parental leave. Final compensation will be determined by job‑related factors consistent with applicable law.
