Social skills - the lead server is always interacting with guests and restaurant staff and needs to be approachable, polite, and helpful. They also handle customer complaints and ensure high-quality service. The position will work side by side with the back of the house team(chef) and F&B Manager(s) to ensure all levels of service standards are met. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Train new & existing servers, bartenders and barbacks as needed on service standards and policies set forth by QBRC Will shadow as needed Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner. Supervise service staff functions providing consistent, professional, guest service as directed by the F&B Manager(s). Investigate; resolve food quality, and service complaints. Manage in compliance with tribal, local, state, federal laws and regulations. Maintain procedures for security of monies. Maintain procedures for credit control and handling of financial transactions. Maintain employee appearance standards in food and beverage division. Assist in lowering attrition. Direct and maintain food handling in compliance with sanitation laws. Promote employee empowerment. Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics, which inspire employees to meet and exceed standards. Perform in the capacity of any position supervised. Professionally deal with difficult situations and people. Meet deadlines as required. Meet multiple priorities of business demands. Adjust to schedule changes, cover shifts on short notice. May work 6 days a week. May have to close one shift and then open the next shift. Changing priorities, multiple priorities, variety types of guests/clients, seasonal changes, business demands. Comply at all times with QBRC standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient resort operations. Maintain a neat and organized work area. Listen and respond to guest complaints. Attend meetings as scheduled and requested. Other duties as required. PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: (*Constantly, Frequently, Occasionally) While performing these job duties, the employee is regularly required to: Must be able to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the casino. Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community in all situations. Ability to lift 50lbs QualificationsRequired: High School diploma or equivalent, or enrolled in an equivalency program. Minimum and consecutive two years’ experience in an upscale fast pace restaurant or equivalent, with experience in a supervisory capacity. Time management skills. Read, write, and speak English fluently. Ability to deal with difficult situations. Ability to train employees in alcohol intervention, food handling and sanitation. Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other employees. Must be available for both day and night shifts. Must be available to work weekends and holidays. Computer literate Preferred: Two year degree in hotel/restaurant management or related field. CPR LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: Food Handler's Permit ServSafe (will attend when offered) ServSafe Alcohol Certificate.
