Job Description Summary

This position is responsible for general set up, operation, optimization, changeover/troubleshoot and maintain assigned department equipment.  Responsible for meeting/exceeding production standards, maintaining product quality, minimizing/preventing equipment downtime and sustaining budgeted waste levels every day.

Responsibilities

Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to:Ā 

  • Works with management toĀ identifyĀ andĀ eliminateĀ safety hazards.Ā 

  • Has detailed operational knowledge of the equipment to the point that the Associate canĀ operateĀ within specified quality/quantity limits.Ā 

  • Set up,Ā operateĀ and trouble shoot equipment.Ā Ā 

  • Maintain equipment to produceĀ productĀ to meet BD’s Quality Standards.Ā Ā 

  • Repair equipment withinĀ Associate’sĀ capability and followĀ departmentĀ escalation plan.Ā 

  • Performs preventative maintenance on equipment as specified in the plant preventative maintenance (PM) program.Ā 

  • Responsible for recording preventative maintenance, planned and breakdown activities in SAP.Ā 

  • Must have mechanical ability and knowledge of proper use of tools, properĀ troubleshootingĀ and set up procedures.Ā 

  • AssistĀ with radiation emergencies when and if they occur.Ā 

  • Performs other duties as assigned by Management.Ā 

  • Work with limited supervision and perform duties in a prompt and professional manner.Ā 

  • Attend training and meetings asĀ required.Ā 

  • General housekeeping andĀ clean upĀ of work area / safety awareness.Ā 

  • Sustain a productive work environment through effective communication with team members.Ā 

  • Obey all company policies,Ā standardsĀ and rules, including but not limited to: Safety policies and rules (including lockout procedures); Quality policies and rulesĀ 

  • MustĀ maintainĀ regular, punctual attendance.Ā 

Education:Ā 

  • High School diploma or equivalent,Ā requiredĀ 

  • Vocational/technical school, preferred.Ā 

  • Manufacturing experience,Ā preferred.Ā 

Ā 

Experience:Ā 

  • Manufacturing experience preferred but notĀ requiredĀ 

  • Forklift – Must be able to obtain License within 3 monthsĀ 

  • Yard Truck Operation – Must be able toĀ operateĀ within a 3-month period.Ā 

  • Must have a valid driver’s licenseĀ 

  • Radiation certification – Must be able toĀ acquireĀ in 12 monthsĀ 

  • This job is contingent on clearing an FBI background check.  You willĀ be requiredĀ to provide fingerprints to be sent to the FBI.  The corporate security officer willĀ determineĀ if the background information will be acceptable for this position.Ā

Knowledge,Ā SkillsĀ and Abilities:Ā 

  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic,Ā electricalĀ and pneumatic systems.Ā 

  • Must be able to speak,Ā readĀ and write EnglishĀ 

  • Good interpersonal skillsĀ 

  • Computer skills (SAP, Excel, Word preferred) - BasicĀ

Physical Demands:Ā Ā Ā 

  • PCP Level 3: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of forceĀ frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly.Ā 

Ā 

Work Environment (if applicable):Ā 

  • High speed manufacturing environment.  Must remain alert and focused.Ā 

  • No air-conditioning in parts ofĀ sterilization/warehouseĀ area.Ā 

  • RadiationĀ inĀ close proximity.Ā 

  • May have intermittent exposure to chemicals;Ā 

  • Degree of exposure to dust, dirt, heat, fumes, noise,Ā vibrationĀ and chemicals.Ā 

  • When working outside, any & all physical elements of weather & temperature may be present. Inside, noise is the major distraction.Ā 

  • Safety glasses must be worn when in the warehouseĀ 

  • Some physical exertion, including lifting, may beĀ required.Ā 

  • Safety toe shoesĀ requiredĀ
