Under limited supervision, performs skilled maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance for Holland Hospital's off-campus facilities and leased properties. Ensures building systems, equipment, grounds, and physical structures are maintained in a safe, reliable, and compliant condition. Performs work across multiple trades, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance. Responds to emergencies, supports facility improvement projects, coordinates with vendors, and maintains regulatory documentation to promote a safe and efficient environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Employment Type: Full Time (80 hours every two weeks)

Shift: 7am-5:30pm (4-10 hour shifts)

Qualifications:

- High school diploma/GED

Facility Maintenance & Building Systems

  • Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on building systems, equipment, and physical structures across all off-campus properties.
  • Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and repairs mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, carpentry, painting, and other building-related systems.
  • Monitors, operates, tests, and maintains facility infrastructure and specialized equipment, including emergency generators, energy management systems, and other applicable building systems.
  • Identifies maintenance concerns proactively and recommends solutions that improve reliability, efficiency, and facility appearance.

Preventive Maintenance, Compliance & Documentation

  • Administers preventive maintenance programs for owned and leased off-campus facilities to ensure equipment reliability and regulatory compliance.
  • Completes work orders, preventive maintenance records, inspections, requisitions, occurrence reports, and other required documentation accurately and timely.
  • Maintains records required by regulatory agencies and organizational standards.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce maintenance costs.

Projects, Vendor Coordination & Emergency Response

  • Supports facility renovations, construction projects, equipment installations, furniture moves, and workspace reconfigurations.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with contractors, vendors, Supply Chain, and internal departments to complete maintenance activities and projects.
  • Responds to facility emergencies, including electrical failures, plumbing issues, equipment malfunctions, severe weather events, and other urgent building needs.

Grounds, Safety & Fleet Operations

  • Maintains exterior grounds through seasonal activities such as snow removal, lawn maintenance, weed control, and general property upkeep.
  • Operates safely using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follows organizational safety practices.
  • Maintains assigned vehicles by ensuring cleanliness, adequate fuel levels, proper inventory of tools and supplies, and coordinating scheduled maintenance.
  • Partners with Security and other departments to maintain a safe environment throughout off-campus properties.

Resource & Financial Stewardship

  • Procures materials and supplies using approved purchasing processes, vendors, and organizational resources.
  • Supports responsible budget management through cost-conscious purchasing and efficient utilization of materials and equipment.
  • Protects organizational assets by maintaining equipment, vehicles, tools, and inventory in good working condition.
