Weld Cut & Etch Knowledge and Experience (Leading a team of technicians is even better)
Able to Support Leading Floor Quality Technicians at times
Lead and drive continuousimprovementinitiativestoenhanceproductquality, processcapability, and operationalefficiency.Â
Serve as thesenior technicalauthorityforresolvingcomplexcustomer and supplierconcernsusingstructuredmethodologies (8D, Kepner‑Tregoe, etc.).Â
Ensure full compliancewith IATF 16949 and customer-specificrequirementsacrossallqualitydeliverables.Â
Lead cross‑functionalqualityreviews and drive rapidcontainment, corrective action, and preventive actionactivities.Â

APQP, LaunchSupport & ProgramLeadershipÂ
Lead thepreparation, review, and submissionofcomplete PPAP packages, ensuringaccuracy and on‑time approval.Â
Drive supplier APQP readiness, ensuringsuppliersmeetallquality, documentation, and launchrequirements.Â
Serve as a keyquality leader fornew programlaunches, ensuringprocessvalidation, readiness, and deliverablecompletion.Â
Coordinate and lead customer-facingreviewson APQP timing, engineeringchanges, and open issues.Â
Â
Gage, Process Control & StatisticalExpertiseÂ
Oversee, validate, and approvegagestudies (Gage R&R, Bias, Linearity, Stability) prior toproduction use or after engineeringchanges.Â
Lead thedevelopment, maintenance, and auditingofControl Plans, InspectionPlans, and ContainmentPlans.Â
Support PFMEA development and ensurealignmentbetween PFMEA, Control Plan, and shop‑floordocumentation.Â
Utilizeadvancedstatisticaltools and coach theteamon SPC methodologies, data-drivendecisionmaking, and properstatisticalapplication.Â

Customer & SupplierInterfaceÂ
Act as theprimarypointofcontactforassignedcustomers, managingallquality-relatedcommunication and escalations.Â
Build and maintainstrongcustomerrelationshipsthrough proactive updates, rapidresponsiveness, and professionalcommunication.Â
Coordinatesorting, rework, oron-site containmentactivitieswhenrequired.Â
Traveltocustomer sites (10–25%) tosupportissueresolution and representtheplantqualityorganization.Â

TeamLeadership & DevelopmentÂ
Provideday‑to‑dayleadershiptoQualityTechnicians, Cut & EtchOperators, and junior QualityEngineers.Â
Assigntasks, reviewworkquality, and implement corrective actionwhenneeded.Â
Mentor and trainteammembersonproblem‑solving, qualitysystems, customerportals, and plantprocesses.Â
SupporttheQuality Manager withstrategicplanning and departmentalimprovementinitiatives.Â

Systems, Documentation & TechnicalSupportÂ
Lead thecreation, maintenance, and auditingofqualitydocumentationincluding ODS, Control Plans, and compliancerequirements.Â
Use customersystemssuch as Stellantis PRISM, GM PRR, Ford WERS, Honda NARS, and others as required.Â
Approve post‑SOP supplierPPAPs and verifysuppliercompliance.Â
Supportprocessvalidation and capabilitystudiesforcritical and significantcharacteristics.Â

Qualifications & ExperienceÂ
EducationÂ
Bachelor’sdegree in Engineeringrequired (orequivalenttechnicalexperience).Â
Â
RequiredExperienceÂ
5+ yearsofexperiencewithanengineeringdegree ORÂ
9+ yearsofexperiencewithout a degreebutwithrelevantcertifications/training.Â
Minimum 5 yearsofQualityEngineerexperience in high‑volumemanufacturing.Â
Automotive manufacturingexperiencerequired, withTier 1/2/3 experiencestronglypreferred.Â
Demonstratedsuccessleadingroot-cause analysis, problem-solving, and continuousimprovementinitiatives.Â
Strongrecordofreliability, teamwork, and professionalcommunication.Â
