GHSP (a $300M revenue automotive supplier in the process to add bolt on acquisitions) is hiring a leader to define and drive the company’s Product and Business Strategy with a clear Right to Win. This role is built for a high-velocity, hands-on strategy leader who will move GHSP from opportunistic RFQ response to focused, measurable growth—based on deep customer technical insights, competitive cost/footprint realities, an disciplined execution.

 

You will lead the end-to-end strategy process, leading cross functional teams: building the fact base through direct engagement with OEM and Tier-1 engineering and decision-makers, third party knowledgeable industry players, translating insights into where-to-play/how-to-win choices, and driving swift cross-functional execution—including product roadmap, partnerships and potential recommendations for bolt-on business/product line opportunities (organic and M&A).

 

What You’ll Own (Key Responsibilities)

 

Define GHSP’s Product/Business “True North”

  • Lead a structured strategy process to define adjacent products Strategy that align with :
    • an attractive Total Addressable Market with a reasonable number of existing players
    • GHSP’s portfolio in the electromechanical actuators, shifters, and niche electronics
  • Build an explicit Right to Win framework.
  • Establish clear “do not chase” criteria to avoid unwinnable or margin-dilutive pursuits.

 Build the Fact Base Through Customer & Technical Market Engagement for Advanced Engineering and Pursuit phases.

  • First/Main point of contact for technical support.
  • Coordinate projects closely with customers, suppliers and peers (including cross functional SMEs) in conjunction with Program Management.
  • Supports organizational change management to align the team with future strategy

Turn Strategy into Execution (Cross-Functional Leadership)

  • Responsible for providing direction for the product technical roadmap.
  • Provide cross functional alignment on all new business pursuits and quoting activities.
  • Demonstrates analytical thinking by proactively identifying current and potential design risks/problems and execute problem solving tools to address them.
  • Lead development of new product concepts and participate on new program quotations.
  • Identify and drive benchmarking analysis of products to support product development and new business pursuits.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electromechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
  • A minimum of 8 years' experience in product development engineering with 5 years of demonstrated leadership experience
  • Ability to promote effective analysis for root cause solutions to problems through effective problem-solving methods
  • Experience in DFMEA/PFMEA, PPAP, DFA tools, and new product development processes
  • Demonstrated APQP experience, specifically with starting/implementing design engineering changes
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to effectively control and manage changes in the production environment and systems
  • Demonstrate effective collaboration techniques and ability to build networks with people from different countries and cultures, think and work with them to bring positive impact
  • Ability to align customer needs and satisfaction to business strategy and leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions
  • Demonstrated capability in the use of effective resource planning techniques
